Note: This sample lesson is an example of what your future lessons will be like. As you study this introductory lesson you will see how easy and effective our learning method truly is.
As a warm-up we start each lesson with a vocabulary game followed by your 15 phrases. SCROLL DOWN!!
In level C most of the phrases will be in the past tense and the two conjugated verbs will be in the past tense, as well.
If this Level C lesson seems too difficult, I suggest you try the Level B sample lesson. On the other hand, if it seems too easy, you're ready to go on to the Level D sample lesson. In either case, go back to the homepage to request your Level B or D sample lesson. You will find the link to the homepage at the bottom of this page or simply close the window to go back.

It was a pleasure meeting you and I hope to see you again soon. (CLICK on icon for audio-->) Fue un placer conocerle a Ud. y espero volver a verle pronto. Note:Volver a verle is literally to return to see you.Volver a can be used in front of any infinitive verb to express repetition or to do X again: volver a ver is to see again.

He asked me out for dinner and I went! Me invitó a salir a cenar y ¡fui! Note:Fui is a past tense form of two verbs: ir -- to go and ser -- to be. The context tells us that in this case fui means I went, because the other option -- I was -- doesn't make sense. Cóctel means both cocktail party and cocktail (a drink).

Remember that the the preterite describes completed actions in the past. Here are the model verbs conjugated in the preterite tense:
HABLAR -AR
yo hablé = I spoke tú hablaste = you spoke él/ella, Ud. habló = he/she, you (formal) spoke nosotros hablamos = we spoke vosotros hablasteis = you-all spoke ellos/ellas, Uds. hablaron = they (masculine/feminine), you-all (formal) spoke
COMER -ER
yo comí = I ate tú comiste = you ate él/ella, Ud. comió = he/she, you (formal) ate nosotros comimos = we ate vosotros comisteis = you-all ate ellos/ellas/ustedes comieron = they (masculine/feminine), you-all (formal) ate
VIVIR -IR
yo viví = I lived tú viviste = you lived él/ella, Ud. vivió = he/she, you (formal) lived nosotros vivimos = we live vosotros vivisteis = you-all lived él/ella, Uds. vivieron = they (masculine/feminine), you-all (formal) lived
